Rainbow Woven Ballet Flats with Destroyed Insoles and Bow Detail
Colourful on the outside. Wrecked on the inside.
These rainbow striped woven flats by Ballerinas at Atmosphere, size 6/39. Raffia weave in pink, green, yellow, blue and natural with a little bow on the toe. Summer flats that got put through hell.
Look at those insoles. The lining has completely given up. White residue caked across the footbed, peeling edges where the material tore away from my skin pulling at it over and over. The padding is worn flat where my feet sat. You can see the outline of every toe, every heel strike, every shift of weight. The edges are shredded.
Woven raffia lets air through but traps everything in the fibres. Every barefoot summer walk soaked straight into the weave. The insoles absorbed it all and there was nowhere for it to go. These flats were never the same after the first wear and I kept going.
