Tan UGG Boots, Classic Short, Muddy and Well Worn, Sheepskin Lined, Worn Barefoot
These have been through fields you wouldn't walk in your best shoes.
Classic short tan UGGs, sheepskin lined, caked in mud from the soles halfway up the sides. These aren't the pair that stays by the front door looking presentable. These are the ones I pull on barefoot and take through whatever the weather throws at me. Mud, puddles, wet grass, country lanes. The exterior shows all of it.
The inside is where it gets interesting. Sheepskin holds scent in layers. It doesn't just sit on the surface like nylon or seal flat like patent. The dense fibres absorb deep and build up over repeated wear. Every time my bare feet slide into these, the sheepskin takes a little more and holds it. These have had months of that. The lining is pressed flat where my feet have shaped it and darkened where my toes and heels have sat against it over and over.
The mud on the outside tells you where I've been. The sheepskin on the inside tells you what it cost to walk there.
