White and grey Nike Revolution running trainers, mesh upper, chunky foam midsole, worn down from regular use. The kind of trainer that starts clean and pale and gradually collects everything a foot does inside it over time. These have been collecting for a while.
Running trainers are built to contain heat and effort. The mesh looks breathable and technically it is, but barefoot inside a running shoe all day generates more than mesh can manage. The foam insole compresses under foot weight and holds warmth deep in its structure. The padded collar has been pressed against bare skin at the ankle all day. The toe box has been the warmest part, the foot pushed forward by the running geometry, heat concentrating exactly where the toes press against the lining.
The midsole has gone from bright white to the kind of worn cream that tells you these have seen real use. The mesh is soft and broken in. The insole carries a foot imprint from toe to heel that isn't going anywhere.
