Gold Crackle Finish Platform Stiletto Courts, Miss Selfridge, Heavily Worn Barefoot
These looked ruined long before I was done with them. That was always the appeal.
Gold metallic with a black crackle finish across the entire surface. Round toe, platform, stiletto heel. Miss Selfridge. The crackle pattern covers every inch, the gold breaking through black like something that's been worn past the point of caring. The insoles are filthy, darkened and marked with visible foot prints from hours of barefoot wear. You can see exactly where my toes pressed in, where my heel sat, where the ball of my foot ground into the lining.
I wear these barefoot every time. The metallic finish doesn't breathe. It traps heat the same way patent does but with a texture you can feel against your skin rather than smooth and slick. The crackle surface means every contact point has friction. Toes, arch, heel, all of it gripping rather than sliding. By the time I take them off the insoles are warm and the lining has taken everything the sealed exterior kept in.
The outside looks like they've lived through something. The inside confirms it.
